The only time I have used technology in my education career is for research or written assignments. Whenever my teachers would assign a research paper, I would use the internet as one of my main sources of gathering information, and Microsoft Word has been the program I've always used to write my papers with. I have not had to deal with PowerPoint much or create a blog.
I hope to learn different tools I can use as teaching methods later on in my career. Many children today have grown up with technology. Using technology for teaching can help students better understand the material. It provides a visual tool that allows students to learn through a form of communication they are used to. I hope to learn more about PowerPoint, blogs, and websites so I can set use them in my future classrooms.
After taking the Learning Systems test, I discovered that I was pretty balanced in all different styles except for sensing and intuitive. I am more prone to learning facts than concepts and theories. As a history major, I learn facts and dates of all kinds of historical events. When I teach, that is what my students will be learning as well. Concepts and theories tend to confuse me. I like to know the actuality instead of guessing it.
